:::: dcm testimonials ::::

Just wanted to let you know that Darrin Crowder did an incredible job at our event on November 6, 2008 (Profit and Loss Association in Lake Charles, LA).

The content of his testimony was powerful; and his delivery was professional, well organized, and "first rate". He made himself available to visit with our members after the event, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

Thanks for recommending Darrin. He was a tremendous blessing to everyone who attended.

Darrin,

This was the first Profit & Loss luncheon that I have attended since I became more in tune with the Holy Spirit and what Jesus did for us all. It only took a couple of minutes of you speaking to know why I was there. Your story is very powerful in many ways, but the submission, the giving up of self, in your closet, THAT is what it is all about. You see, I (am) was a camera guy.

I owned a production studio fro 16 years before (actually) giving it away and joining Christian World as their television producer/media director. Anyway, I’m sure you get a thousand emails after you speak.

I attended today’s meeting with an associate Pastor and we would like to get some information concerning costs to have you speak at a men’s retreat.

Dear Darrin,

WOW, I have never seen a speaker receive a standing ovation as they took the stage to give their talk!

You presentation on Thursday afternoon at The Truck Blue Book Conference was the perfect closing to a day of learning by our attendees. You made the situation in the Middle East far more relevant and connected than I thought possible, but the stories were from someone there actually living it, not some embedded news reporter. The only regret I had was we had to end your talk for the evening reception. As a colleague pointed out to me, and I agree, the audience was so captivated by you they would have listened as long as we would allow you to talk. This was evident by the tremendous number of attendees that approached you and the amount of time you graciously gave them after your talk.

Darrin, you have raised the bar for me going into future meetings with my attendees as they will expect the same excellent guest speaker. You contributed amazingly to one, if not our best, conference in the eight years I have been here.
I wish you all the best in the future.

Sincerely,
Terry Williams

The day was exceptional!  Darrin was everything you’d pictured him to be and more!  He’s a great guy, super heart for God, knows the Word, and communicated very, very well.  His message was right on target (not too much “God and Country,” but enough)!  It was biblically based, challenging our folks toward life commitment.  We couldn’t be more pleased.

Thanks so much for blessing us with your recommendation.

We could not have asked for our event to have gone better.  Darrin was wonderful.  I know everyone received a blessing by hearing his message.

Darrin did a fantastic job presenting his Patriot Day message to our congregation. I'm not sure there was a dry eye in the house when he was finished. His presentation was exactly what I was hoping for and he delivered it with professionalism & passion. Thanks for helping us to arrange his visit with us. I heard comments from both older & younger alike and he definitely communicated a powerful message. I'd be happy to recommend him to others without reservation.

It was a great day! I can not say enough good about Darrin. I had several church members talking about what a good job he did and how they enjoyed the message and even thanking me for asking him to come!! So as far as what we needed and expected it was that and more!! Words can not express the wonderful service we had and how you knew the presence of the Lord was there. Thanks again for everything.

Hey!  I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoy it when you are with us at Walkertown.  You have an incredible gift of explaining passages in such a way that the rest of us can get it.  You teach just the way Jesus did!  You start with a scripture that applies to the subject at hand -- from memory, no less (by the way, I totally envy you that gift!), then you expound on it, and then follow it up with an excellent everyday example that we can all understand.  I know you can't see this from where you usually sit, but we are all nodding our heads in total agreement.  There is excitement in their faces when they get the point you have made.  As one of my favorite Bible teachers (Dr. McGhee) puts it, you put the cookies on the bottom shelf so that even the kiddies can reach them!

I just wanted to tell you that tonight at our women's meeting, I had so many tell me how glad they were that they got to hear your message Sunday. So many compliments.... they only wished more people could have been there. One girl told me that her dad had talked about you all week. They're bringing the whole family on March 12th.

Imagine trudging through a swamp waist deep with nothing to guide you but your compass. It is night, and you have to use your instincts to find your way to a marked point. For speaker Darrin Crowder, he has met many similar challenges such as this when he joined the army.

Crowder came to Valley Christian the week of March 27 to share his message with the students of how to separate “what the world tries to say to you vs. what the Bible is trying to tell you.”

“I have a passion for students your age,” stated the retired master sergeant. “At this age I was going down the wrong path. If someone had spoken to me better I would be going down a different path,” Crowder concluded.

On Monday he shared his experiences with life, and how he saw joining the army as a way for people to see him as the “tough guy” image he wanted to portray. Crowder grew up in a home filled with mostly women, and he noted how he missed the absence of a male figure in his life. However, as the week wore on, Crowder used the week to show students how, although he seemed to be having all the joys in the world, he really was completely empty inside. He included all of his experiences, from promiscuity to military journeys for students to see how much he had changed over the years.
One experience that silenced the audience with terror was his story of how he was hit by a bomb in Iraq . He explained how he had been walking back to camp, when suddenly a bomb came from insurgents and shards from the explosion went through his neck and through parts of his back and his side. Crowder was sent to emergency surgery where he learned that it was a miracle he was still alive. He also learned that his friend who had been standing behind him had not survived. It caused Crowder to question why God wanted him to stay alive, and why he had to take his friend away who was the father of a new child.

The entire week was an experience loved by many students, who found Crowder’s easy way of talking and genuine spirit to be very inspirational. “He broke the mold from the usual speaker,” stated senior John Catanzaro. “He balanced his testimony with advice in a really unique way. His relation of life stories to spiritual applications really worked.” Mr. Oliphant found the speaker’s message to be very relative to his classroom. “I really liked what the speaker said. My job as a teacher is to have class come second, and for your life to come first, and that life is with Jesus Christ.”

Spiritual Emphasis Week was an overall success that left a change in all of the lives of Valley students. For Crowder, it was also an experience he will never forget. “What God has called me to do is give wisdom to young people. I have a passion for young people, and I am envious of your innocence,” said Crowder
